International Day of The Girl Child – Aruppukottai Region 12.10.2022

International Day of the Girl Child was celebrated on 12th October 2022 at 3.00 pm at the Government Girl’s School in Kariyapatti. Teachers, Students, and Regional staff took part in the function. Mrs. Shanmugathaai, the Headmistress welcomed everyone and presided over the function. The function began with “Tamil Thaai Vazlthu” Mrs. Porutselvi, the Regional coordinator briefed the purpose of the day. Student’s performed a skit and delivered speech. Mr. Murugan, the District Childline coordinator shared about knowledge and power of girl child and insisted to make use of it in a good way. Mr. Rajesh from Child Protection Unit summarized the process of child protection and the behaviors of teenagers. Mr. Udhayakumar explained the importance of nutrition and guided them to intake nutritious food and lead a healthy life. Mrs. Subbulakshmi, the Sub Inspector of kariyapatti women’s Police station pinpointed the do’s and don’ts attitudes of girls. Mrs. Anandhajothi, Sub Inspector of kariyapatti Police station spoke about the social awareness and insisted how the girls possess it in today’s situation. Fr. Stalin, Assistant secretary of MMSSS presented a gift to the students who have performed a skit and delivered speech. Fr. Rajan, Assistant secretary of MMSSS gave a speech on how to overcome contradictions and create space for ourselves by keeping the goal of girl child day. Mrs. Vijayalakshmi, Assistant Headmistress gave vote of thanks. The function ended with a pledge and National Anthem. The Arrangements were done by Aruppukottai District coordinator, Regional Coordinator, and Staff members.


World Student’s Day – kodaikanal region 14.10.2022

World Student’s Day was celebrated on 14th October 2022 at Kodaikanal Government School at 3.00 pm. 68 students, 8 teachers, and regional staff took part in the function. The function was presided over by Mr. K. Mariyadas, the Headmaster. Mrs. Gnanasasikala welcomed everyone. Mrs.Loretta, the District Coordinator shared some golden words of Dr.Abdulkalam and instructed students to follow these words. Chief guest Mr.Rajasekar, a Social activist spoke about the good qualities of Kalam and about the impact of reading books in everyone’s life. Mrs. Uma, a school teacher expressed the poverty of kalam, the struggles faced by him, and his achievements. Books were presented to the students who recited poems and wrote essays on kalam. Mr. Mariyadas, the Headmaster insisted the students to cultivate good qualities like obedience, cleanliness and punctuality. Function ended with a vote of thanks.


World Prayer Day and Kolping Day – Theni Region 27.10.2022

World Prayer Day and Adolf Kolping Day were combined and celebrated on 27th October 2022 in Theni region at 10.00am On behalf of Madurai Multi-Purpose Social Service Society (MMSSS), a program was organized at Jayaraj Annapackiam Women’s College in Periyakulam on the theme “Kolping World Prayer Day” and awareness activities were initiated to emphasize the importance of cleanliness in public places. The Kolping world prayer event was held at the Infant Jesus Hall of Jayaraj Annapakyam Women’s College and the cleanliness drive was carried out on New Ground in Periyakulam.


The event was presided over by Fr. Gabriel, the secretary of the MMSSS and Sr. Jesurani, the principal of Jayaraj Annapakyam Women’s College. Event was started with the prayer by Fr. Stalin, the Assistant Secretary of MMSSS. Fr.Gabriel and Sr.Jesurani explained the significance of the day. Fr. Louis, the Parish Priest of Periyakulam gave the words of blessing. Fr. Rajan, the Assistant Secretary of MMSSS moderated the event. Mr.Saravanakumar, the Member of Legislative Assembly from Periyakulam highlighted the importance of protecting natural resources and flagged off the cleanliness drive. NSS students of Jayaraj Annapackiam Women’s College and Kolping family members jointly undertook the cleanliness drive. A tree sapling was planted at the chapel of St. Paul the Hermit. Special invitees and MMSSS staff members from Theni region planted saplings.


The coordination work of the event was carried out by Fr. Rajan, the Assistant Secretary of MMSSS and Mr. Elias Raja, the Kolping Project Coordinator.
