MADURAI MULTIPURPOSE SOCIAL SERVICE SOCIETY (MMSSS) Sancta Maria Building, Bypass Road, Madurai – 625 016, Tamilnadu, South India Report of COVID-19 Relief Work MADURAI MULTIPURPOSE SOCIAL SERVICE SOCIETY (MMSSS), as a Social Wing of the Catholic Archdiocese of Madurai, has always undertaken Emergency Relief works since 1967 with dedication and devotion. COVID–19 has Created an Overall Void In Development and has caused damage to the lives and livelihood of the people world over. MMSSS with its vision to help the poor and the needy has devoured initiatives with aid from the Archdiocese and from its own contribution and supported 20,090 people in various Parishes, Homes, Slums, Refugees Homes, Service Areas and Neighborhood with dry rations, oil, groceries, household items, sanitizers, masks from 17.04.2020 to 26.04.2020. MMSSS was one of the first organizations to initiate COVID19 Awareness Campaign and provided sanitizers and medical kits. It has donated from its own fund Rs. 25, 47, 773/- (Twenty Five Lakhs Forty Seven Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Three) towards this noble cause and aided more than 9000 families. MMSSS vows its gratitude to Archbishop Most. Rev. Dr. Antony Pappusamy, Vicar General Msgr. Dr. J. Jeyaraj and the Archdiocesan Procurator Rev. Fr. Peter Roy for the generous, gorgeous and great contribution towards the relief work to the tune of Rs. 45,00,000/- (Forty Five Lakhs) and it has genuinely reached 11090 families and making it to the total expenditure to the tune of Rs. 70,47,773/- (Seventy Lakhs Forty Seven Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Three). MMSSS also expresses its sentiments of gratitude to volunteers and MMSSS staff for reaching out the things to people.
